Range & Status
Very few specimens have ever been collected in Britain. Until recently, when this species was found in the Helford estuary, there had been no twentieth century collections. This species has a very distinct south-western distribution and is currently known from the south and north coasts of Cornwall, Devon and Pembrokeshire. Here it occurs on small stones and shells in the subtidal zone to about 15m depth water, in relatively wave-sheltered situations.
