Range & Status

Found in extremely exposed shallow rocky situations, often in surge gullies in the kelp zone and usually on vertical rock surfaces. Recent British and Irish records are all from exposed sites in the north-west of Scotland and Ireland. There is also a recent record from the Isles of Scilly.
