Range & Status
Occurs on gravelly, sandy and muddy bottoms, from a few metres to about 700m, from the Mediterranean to southern England and southern Ireland. A very rare ' southern' species recorded off the coasts of Kent, south-western Ireland, the Channel Islands and the south coast of Cornwall. Nine specimens have been recorded from the Cornish coast, seven of which are post-1996.
