Range & Status

Hymenoptera: Cynipidae; sexual stage; first British record for the genus and not just for the species. Probably introduced from mainland Europe.

Regional Distribution

One record (sexual stage) found by Rex and Barbara Hancy at the Eden Project SX0454 in mid-June 2004.

Habitat & Ecology

Associated species: Quercus ilex . Large globular gall occurs on both upper and lower leaf surfaces. Galls were found on one of a number of Quercus ilex planted in a row.
