Range & Status
A locally common wasp on sandy heaths and coastal cliffs in southern England from west Cornwall to east Kent and north to Norfolk. Its restricted distribution and precise habitat requirements suggests that it may be under threat. There are numerous pre-1974 records and only seven post-1980 records, the most recent being from Lowland Point (2004), Towan Beach (2004) and Penhale Dunes (2002).
