The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Silene x hampeana - Hybrid Campion

i> Silene x hampeana is the hybrid between S. latifolia and S. dioica . It is fairly frequent in West Cornwall along the coast and in the mining district and may be found separately from the parents. Locations include Gwithian Green (SW54V, 1998, C.N.French), Countybridge Quarry (SW72F, 1997, I.J.Bennallick), east of Crantock (SW76V, 1997, H.M.Meredith), St. Anthony Head (SW83K, 1998, R.E.Lees), Heligan (SW94Y, 1992, G.C.Matthews) and Watermill Lane on St. Mary's (SV91G, 1995, R.J.Murphy).
