Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Oxalis stricta - Upright Oxalis

Upright Oxalis has been recorded as a rare garden escape and weed both in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Sites include an abandoned nursery at Lariggan, Penzance (SW42U, 1978, B.M.Sturdy), St. Erth (SW53M, 1981, E.Griffiths), Seaton and Downderry (SX35C, 1981, E.Griffiths) and Saltash (SX45J, 1981, E.Griffiths). O.stricta is listed as O. europaea Jord. in Margetts & Spurgin (1991) and as O. fontana Bunge in Margetts & David (1981).
